Algebra 2.
Hi Everyone! The last two weeks of work for Algebra 2 are posted below the "Grading Policy - 2nd Semester" info. The last day of school is June 19, I would love to have any and all late work by June 17 at the latest.
Grading Policy - 2nd Semester
**SCROLL down for June 1-5 AND June 8-12 class work**
In summary, in order to "engage" for a week's worth of online learning, from May 30 - end of the year, you must submit something on our google classroom. This may be an assignment, exit ticket (google form), or unit test. -->To earn an A: you must "engage" in two ways each week for at least 6 of the 10 weeks. -->To earn a B: you must "engage" in at least one way for 4 of the 10 weeks. -->An incomplete will be given when a student has failed to engage. I strongly encourage you to engage for all 10 weeks, as this will only help prepare you for future math classes; especially if you are taking Pre-Calculus next year. As always, reach out if you have any questions. |

Hi Everyone!
This week's topic is inverse functions and it goes along with learning target 6C: "I can find inverse functions when given a table, graph or equation."
There are fewer tasks to complete this week, so you can use this as a week to get caught up on previous lessons if needed.

Algebra 2 Resources during "pause of cloud learning"
Hi Algebra 2 Families,
I've been receiving emails for a list of resources for learning/practicing Algebra 2 while we are not meeting. The Northshore School District online resource page recommends the following:
* Math activities: 60 minutes per day
* In Khan Academy you can access content for your specific math class
* If a student is participating in an AP course, they can access Khan Academy or AP Student Central to complete activities in their specific AP course
I agree that Khan Academy will the the most thorough, free, and structured resource. Here are links to specific topics that would be good to practice, review, and research:
Exponents and Radicals - Unit 5
Khan Academy Exponents and Radicals<https://www.khanacademy.org/math/algebra/x2f8bb11595b61c86:rational-exponents-radicals>
Khan Academy Rational Exponents and Radicals<https://www.khanacademy.org/math/algebra2/x2ec2f6f830c9fb89:exp>
Exponential and Logarithmic Functions *This might be a good section because COVID-19 has an exponential spread if not proactive about social distancing
Khan Academy - Exponential Models<https://www.khanacademy.org/math/algebra2/x2ec2f6f830c9fb89:exp-model>
Logarithmic Function Unit - Khan Academy<https://www.khanacademy.org/math/in-math-by-grade/in-in-grade-11-ncert/in-in-exponential-and-logarithmic-functions>
Trigonometry
Khan Academy - Trigonometry Algebra II<https://www.khanacademy.org/math/algebra2/x2ec2f6f830c9fb89:trig>
If you are looking for worksheets for practice. I recommend the odd problems in our textbook, Kuta Software (free, online), or searching the topic you want to practice in a search engine. At this point, getting any type of practice will be good. It's unfortunate that our learning had to be disrupted so drastically. Self teaching is a difficult skill that takes a great deal of internal motivation. I do hope that we all get to some normalcy as soon as possible. Although I am limiting communication, please share with me anything you/your child studies online. Send photos, have a zoom meeting with other classmates to discuss topics, and/or make a math journal.
I wish you all the best,
Ms. Hansen
